Do Something Different – Rebound Therapy (Scunthorpe) @ The Pods

Rebound Therapy is used to facilitate movement, promote balance, promote an increase or decrease in muscle tone, promote relaxation, promote sensory integration, improve fitness and exercise tolerance, and to improve communication skills.

Participants range from mild to severe physical disabilities and from mild to profound and
multiple learning disabilities, including dual sensory impairment and autistic spectrum.

Booking is essential for this activity.

Stay and Play @ Side by Side Children's Centre

A lively stay and play session in the large community room at the Side by Side Children’s Centre.

A variety of play and learning activities for children.

A chance for parents to meet other parents and talk to staff about any concerns that are affecting their family.

Suitable for 0-5 years in term time, older children welcome in holidays.

This is a week long activity (Monday to Friday) and you need to attend all days. 

The course is ideal for beginners aged four years and above. The intensive courses are 30 minute lessons for five consecutive days.

The course can accommodate up to eight children to one swimming teacher.

Courses dates:

Monday 27th to Friday 31st May – 9am to 9.30am

 

Cost: £23.75 per course.

Booking information

Activities must be booked at least 48 hours before the start of the session. Bookings can be made from Monday 25th March 2019 at the facility, or by calling your local leisure centre.

All places and sessions must be paid for at the time of booking.

This is a week long activity (Monday to Friday) and you need to attend all days. 

The course is ideal for beginners aged four years and above. The intensive courses are 30 minute lessons for five consecutive days.

The course can accommodate up to eight children to one swimming teacher.

There are two courses available:

Monday 27th to Friday 31st May – 9am to 9.30am

 

Cost: £23.75 per course (lessons are held in the teaching pool).

Do Something Different – Foam Archery @ Scunthorpe Community Wellbeing Hub

Archery is a sport of skill, patience, and technical precision, it is one of those activities that may appear easy to an observer but is something that takes an immense amount of practice and hard work to perfect.

The most basic of all archery is the foam archery but offers a really good introduction to the sport if you have limited physical strength. Foam archery allows the participants to shoot arrows at targets and helps to generate the muscle memory and strength needed.
