Recycling Craft Workshop @ 20-21 Visual Arts Centre

Learn useful ways to recycle plastic bottles in this full day workshop with Laura Mabbutt. Laura will show you how to make useful items with plastic bottles using various techniques including a plastic string maker which gives the ability to weave or knit with plastic.

Reuse/reinvent Textile Workshop @ 20-21 Visual Arts Centre

Join textile artist Jane McKeating to re-purpose and enhance vintage textile items to give them a new lease of life. In this workshop you will choose from a selection of vintage textile items and spend time reinventing its look using screen print and simple stitch.

The items will include aprons, handkerchiefs, tray cloths and pillow slips. Or feel free to bring your own item to transform.

You can respond to marks which might already be in the cloth, or work on a blank surface if preferred.

You will finish with a new item that might be for decoration or use.

WP Science Stars return to Normanby Hall Country Park with a workshop for those children who are fascinated by fire!

Young scientists will have a great time with three hands on experiments in an hour long workshop, including:

  1. Making a fire monster
  2. Extinguishing candles using an invisible gas (magic)
  3. Can teabags really fly!?

There are two sessions to choose from on Sunday 1 March at 10am or 11.45am. Suitable for children aged 5-11.

The cost is £7.50 per child. Park entry applies (or show your Normanby membership)

The 2019 edition of this legendary event was quite simply amazing! It was been voted number 6 best obstacle race in the UK.

Taking place over around 10kms of cross country horse course with water / mud / sand / crawl nets and jumps… lots and lots of jumps. Designed for ponies conquered by athletes!

With an early or later wave to choose from (we’re just working out the times for 2020’s event, you can even “Do The Double” and take on both in one day!

The event fills up every year so don’t leave entry too late!

Everyone gets a cake and a medal, but you choose if you want to add a funky event t-shirt or hoodie. These are specially designed with a theme for each event and every year is different.

Fully chip timed and amazing on course support.

New for 2020, our shiny new entry system allows us to create a training page and community. Simply join in when you sign up, see who’s training for the event and share your training exploits with us!

Come and make this beautiful willow hare for your home or garden. Choose from a sitting hare or leaping hare. Refreshments and biscuits and lots of fun. All tools are provided, but you are more than welcome to bring along your favourite pair of secateurs if you wish. Please bring a packed lunch.
Suitable for beginners or those with some willow weaving experience.

Come join us at Waters Edge visitor centre to create a beautiful mosaic gift for someone special. We have a wide selection of templates to choose from such as wall plaques, hanging decorations, candle holders, frames, treasure boxes, coasters and much more.

The cost is £12.00 per person and there are just ten places available. Payment is taken on the day by cash or card but booking is essential as places cannot be guaranteed on the day.

Please note this session is suitable for children from about the age of 6. Younger children are welcome to take part take part but will need to have an adult present at all times to assist them.
