Do you want to stitch for pleasure, learn new techniques or improve your existing skills? Or do you want to enjoy stitching and chatting with like-minded people?  The Stitch Zone welcomes stitchers of all abilities. Learn a variety of embroidery stitches and techniques, working at your own pace, or take part in workshops, all with expert help and advice from textile artist and tutor Alex Hall.

£5 per session, £30 for seven sessions.

The Pokemon & Saturday Gaming Club takes place at Scunthorpe Central in the first floor Activity room.

Bring your own Pokemon cards to trade, swap or battle other players.  There  will also be free to play games consoles featuring games like MarioKart and Super Smash Bros. Pokémon themed board games are available too.

Please note that the Club sessions are not directly supervised by Library staff. The sessions are facilitated by volunteers.

Children under the age of 8 years must not be left unattended at any time.

Are you aged 45 or over and not currently in full-time employment? The Scunthorpe Central Writing Group meets once a month in the library meeting room at Scunthorpe Central to share their creative writing. The group are keen to welcome new members, so if you would be interested in joining, please drop in at 2pm.

Members of the group also belong to the University of the Third Age (U3A). If you would be interested in continuing membership of the writing group, membership of the U3A is also a requirement, for a small annual subscription fee. The group can give you more information about this when you drop in.
