CTRL/Shift is a major touring exhibition developed by the 62 Group of Textile Artists in partnership with independent curator Liz Cooper. The exhibition takes shifts and changes as its theme. In particular it is focused on artists whose practice is or has been transformed, especially through innovation in textile art.
Featuring a wide variety of techniques and approaches, the exhibition comprises over thirty artworks by twenty five artists. Due to the size of the exhibition, some of the works are being shown in two venues: 20-21 Visual Arts Centre, and also on the first floor of Scunthorpe Central (just across Church Square from 20-21). Please see below for Scunthorpe Central opening times, as they differ from 20-21 Visual Arts Centre’s.
Please note, 20-21 Visual Arts Centre will close for the Christmas holidays at 3pm on 24 December, re-opening on 2 January 2020.
A family session that is popular with Dads and male carers and a chance to meet other dads.
Lots for the children to do, with a range of activities and support from the staff.
Mum’s are also welcome!
Takes place on the second Saturday of every month.

Suitable for age 8+ and for adults (adults do not have to be accompanied by a child!).

Ctrl/Shift is our new exhibition of works by The 62 Group of Textile Artists, and takes shifts and changes as its theme; in particular it is centred on artists whose practice is or has transformed, in small or large ways, especially towards expressions of innovation in textile art. These shifts may be around changing attitudes to control; the introduction of new materials and techniques; and/or the impact of innovative and contemporary themes and ideas, and evolving technologies.
The exhibition comprises over thirty artworks by twenty five artists, including carefully selected outcomes from a collaboration between three artists who reflected on and were inspired by each other’s work.
