Sand Dough Workshop @ 20-21 Visual Arts Centre
Aug 31 @ 10:30 – 12:30
Sand Dough Workshop @ 20-21 Visual Arts Centre

Join Mandy Keating for this fun family workshop. Learn how to make your own sand dough and create a handprint or other sculpture to take away and keep. Bake it in the oven at home or leave to dry naturally and you will have a permanent memento of the sun, sea and beach in your home! Book on in advance to drop-in between during either of the time slots, allowing up to an hour to do the activity. Suitable for families.

Note for parents/carers of younger children: This is a family workshop and we positively encourage parents/carers to participate and support their children. However, if you want to make your own piece alongside your child you will need to book the appropriate number of places, as this ensures that the artist brings enough supplies with them.

Artists Forum with Susan Simpson @ 20-21 Visual Arts Centre

Following the success of the first meeting back in June, artist and photographer Susan Simpson is returning to lead a series of Artist Forums, beginning on Thursday 12 September. As before the venue will be the gallery café, which will offer an informal setting to look at and debate topics relevant to the creative community. There will also be the opportunity to discuss one another’s work and ideas. So come along, grab a coffee and maybe a delicious homemade cake from our café and join in.

Susan says – “The subject up for discussion at this first meet-up is validity – a feeling that I sometimes experience very strongly and at other times, despite lengthy searching – eludes me! It would be great to see how we all feel about the idea of needing to feel comfy in our own art bubbles…”
