Network Café – Brigg @ Brigg Youth Centre

The Network Cafés are a new community-based initiative delivered by staff from the Adult Mental Health Social Work Team. The vision is to offer practical advice and information to people that have experienced mental health problems with support, specific to their social need.

Drop-in session is held Friday from 9am – 12noon at Brigg Youth Centre on Grammar School Road.
We can offer support and signposting relating to:
* Managing mental health.
* Access to adult education or training.
* Returning to work or managing mental health in the workplace.

The Network Café will also be running educational sessions, which staff will book people into via the drop-ins. The sessions running currently in all of the Network Cafés include:

* Living Mindfully – How to introduce mindfulness to our everyday lives.
* Managing stress.

* Motivate Me – A course about goal setting and keeping motivation high.

Please note, we cannot help people complete benefits forms in their entirety, however if people are struggling due to literacy issues, or are in need of some “light touch” support or encouragement with this, we can offer some assistance. Multiple Sclerosis Society – Brigg Social Afternoon @ Brigg Garden Centre

Social afternoon at Brigg Garden Centre for those with MS and their carers, where we get together with a drink, cake and have a chat.

Takes place on the last Friday of the month from 2pm to 4pm.

Scunthorpe & Glanford Remedial Recreational Swimming Club @ Ancholme Leisure Centre

Provides swimming and exercise in water for people with a disability or who need exercise following an operation.

If support needed for swimming/changing carer to bring support person along to session carer needs to be at least 18 years old.

Takes place every friday from 6pm to 7pm.
