Scunthorpe Cooperative Junior Choir (Middle) @ Oasis Academy Henderson Avenue
Dec 13 @ 17:30 – 18:30

The older training choir welcomes keen singers from 6 – 9 years of age. The choir is led by former SCJC chorister Kathleen Watson who has almost 15 years experience as a choral singer and music educator. The Friday evening sessions provide children with a wide variety of lively musical experiences.

Children learn simple choral repertoire, carefully selected to suit the range and tone of developing voices. Through these songs children develop skills in following a conductor, singing in unison and harmony, accurate pitching throughout the range of their voices, expressive articulation of lyrics, and appropriate vowel formation.

Choir rehearsals take place every Friday (term time only) at Oasis Academy Henderson Avenue in Scunthorpe from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.

Please email scjc2008@live.co.uk for more information about joining, or send a message to your facebook page here. Alternatively, just come along on a Friday evening and introduce yourself.

Suitable for children and young people aged 6 – 9 years.

Scunthorpe parkrun @ Scunthorpe Central Park

parkrun is a weekly 5K timed course for walking, jogging or running. It takes place in the heart of Scunthorpe at Central Park every Saturday morning, starting at 9am, meeting near The Pods.

The event is organised and managed entirely by volunteers.

It is free to take part in parkrun; you just need to make sure you register on the parkrun website, before you run, to record a time. When you have registered you will be able to print out a barcode which you will need to bring along to every run with you. A barcode timing system is used at the events to record your time. This software means that participants can have their results provided almost instantly, either on the parkrun website or by text message.

To find out more about parkrun and to register to take part in the local Scunthorpe parkrun then visit www.parkrun.org.uk/scunthorpe/.

Please note everyone is welcome at parkrun events but anyone under the age of 11 needs to accompanied by a responsible adult.
